Altay
Altay is a vast northern Xinjiang region of the Altai Mountains, Irtysh watershed, taiga, steppe, villages and winter snow culture. Kanas, Hemu and Keketuohai are separate long-distance destinations, not suburbs of Altay city. Plan by corridor, use official transfers and respect pastoral and forest communities.

喀纳斯湖景区
Kanas Lake
Kanas protects an Altai lake, taiga forest, river bends and wildlife habitat within a heavily managed reserve landscape. Official shuttles and closed zones protect both visitors and ecosystems; colour, mist and snow vary constantly.
禾木村
Hemu Village
Hemu is a living mountain village within the greater Kanas region, with timber houses, pasture and forest routes shaped by seasonal tourism. Viewpoints do not make homes public, and snow access requires official transport rather than improvised driving.
可可托海地质景区
Keketuohai Geopark
Keketuohai combines the Irtysh canyon, granite landforms, mining history and cold-climate forest. Geological and industrial stories are distinct but connected, and the long internal corridor demands more time than a single scenic stop suggests.
五彩滩
Wucaitan and the Irtysh River
Wind-eroded coloured rock terraces face poplar woodland across the Irtysh River, creating a strong geological contrast. The formations are fragile and sunset crowds intense; boardwalks and barriers are the only acceptable viewing space.
