Arrive and settle in Shangrao

Start with arrival and where to stay, then choose your sights. Recheck transport and accommodation details before booking.

Choose the area you will visit first+

After reaching Shangrao, you still need to travel to the specific scenic area. Sanqingshan, Wuyuan and Yiyang are in different directions; check onward connections before booking tickets and accommodation.

Match accommodation to the route+

For climbing, compare stays at the foot of the scenic area and on the mountain. When visiting several counties on consecutive days, returning to the same city hotel every night may not be suitable.

Nature & wildlife

Sanqing Mountain Scenic Area

三清山风景区

Sanqing Mountain’s main sights are granite pillars, old pines and clouds and mist, alongside a Taoist cultural background. Open mountain paths reveal distinctive formations such as the Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain. Weather changes can significantly alter visibility. Reference photographs show peaks, seas of clouds and mountain pines, without guaranteeing cloud seas or sunrise during your visit. Choose routes according to your fitness rather than trying to cover every section at once.

Landmarks

Huangling Scenic Area

篁岭景区

Huangling is a hillside village scenic area whose Huizhou-style buildings, layered lanes, terraces and autumn crop-drying displays shape the experience. Reference photographs mainly show drying racks, crops and village houses, illustrating how rooftops and slopes are used together. Crop-drying arrangements and field flowering depend on season and operations; a single photograph should not be treated as a fixed year-round scene.

Guifeng Scenic Area

龟峰景区

Guifeng in Yiyang is known for Danxia landforms and varied rock peaks, and forms part of the China Danxia World Natural Heritage property. Climbing, passing through gaps between rock walls and looking across lakes and mountains reveal red sandstone scenery at different scales. This is not Guifeng Mountain in Macheng, Hubei; confirm the province and county when planning. These reference images show rock peaks, mountain passages and elevated views.

Wuyuan Jiangwan Scenic Area

婺源江湾景区

Jiangwan’s Huizhou village culture, ancestral halls and street architecture provide the main threads for a visit. Sites such as Sansheng Hall, Dunchong Hall and the Xiaojiang Ancestral Hall reflect different local memories. Compare old buildings with more recent exhibition spaces rather than treating the entire area as surviving from one period. The reference gallery mainly shows village houses, lanes and architectural details.
