Xiangxi
Destinations such as Fenghuang, Jishou and Huayuan are spread across Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Transport is needed between old towns, villages and gorges. Organising your itinerary by county-level area and entrance is clearer than simply stringing together scenic-area names.

Places to explore in Xiangxi

Fenghuang Ancient Town Tourist Area
凤凰古城旅游区
Fenghuang Ancient Town’s main visitor route follows streets, bridges and stilt houses along the Tuojiang River. The officially designated area also includes Nanhua Mountain, Fenghuang Memory and other sections. Begin with a riverside walk, then choose exhibitions or other paid experiences according to your interests. Reference photographs mainly cover the Tuojiang riverbanks and Hong Bridge surroundings, not every constituent area.

Aizhai–Shibadong–Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area
矮寨·十八洞·德夯大峡谷景区
This combined scenic area connects Aizhai’s bridge and gorge scenery, Dehang Miao Village, Shibadong Village and other sections. Aizhai Bridge offers insights into road-and-bridge engineering and gorge terrain; Dehang combines landscapes with village culture; Shibadong focuses on rural life and development. Travel between sections requires vehicles, so this should not be understood as an enclosed park with one entrance.
