Baisha Village and Murals
Baisha, an earlier settlement component of the World Heritage property, retains a village layout below Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Its religious halls preserve murals developed from the thirteenth century onward, combining Buddhist, Daoist, Naxi and other regional imagery. The paintings demonstrate cultural exchange, while surrounding homes and fields retain a smaller-scale settlement pattern than Dayan.

Local bus, bicycle on a suitable route or licensed car connects Lijiang with Baisha. Separate village access from the mural ticket entrance and plan a reliable return.
Practical notes
Mural photography may be prohibited to protect pigments. Keep distance, avoid flash, respect worship spaces and do not photograph residents or private homes without consent.
