南浔古镇
Nanxun Ancient Town
Nanxun’s waterways and old bridges introduce the town, while waterside residences, gardens and book-collecting traditions add depth to a walk. The town is closely connected to Jiangnan’s silk industry and merchant history, with traces of interwoven Chinese and Western architecture. If time is limited, choose a waterside walk and look closely at one or two open buildings. To include Baijianlou, Xiaolianzhuang and other areas, allow a fuller half-day.

Getting there
After arriving in Nanxun, choose a visitor entrance or parking area near your planned route. Check travel time separately if coming from central Huzhou. Old streets are mainly explored on foot, with many stone bridges and waterside steps.
Practical notes
Ticketing and access requirements may differ between streets and indoor venues. Public street access does not mean all venues are open free of charge. Respect residents’ daily lives and take care on slippery surfaces in rain. Photographs are historical references.
