Li River at Xingping
The Xingping reach of the Li River passes through the Guilin karst landscape, where forested tower and cone formations rise directly from an alluvial valley. Boats, villages and cultivated plots give scale to landforms produced by long limestone dissolution and river erosion. The celebrated compositions are real landscapes rather than fixed photo stages, and their appearance changes substantially with water, light, mist and season.

Begin from Xingping and choose an official walking, cruise or raft product for the specific river reach. Products may end at different piers and require a road transfer back.
Practical notes
Do not trespass on farmland or railway infrastructure for a banknote-style photograph. Confirm navigation suspensions during high or low water, wear flotation equipment and keep clear of working boats.
