Yichang

三峡大坝旅游区

The visitor area interprets the scale, navigation and power functions of the Three Gorges Project from controlled overlooks and exhibitions. It is critical infrastructure with real-name booking and security boundaries, not a freely walkable dam.

三峡人家

This managed Xiling Gorge landscape combines river cliffs, tributary paths and interpreted Tujia cultural scenes. Ferry transfers and steep wet paths shape access, while staged programmes should not be confused with every aspect of contemporary community life.

屈原故里文化旅游区

The site combines relocated historic buildings, Qu Yuan interpretation, Dragon Boat Festival traditions and views across the reservoir landscape. Visitors should distinguish surviving, relocated and reconstructed fabric while understanding living festival practice.

三游洞

Sanyou Cave sits in limestone cliffs at the Xiling Gorge entrance and is associated with generations of writers and inscriptions. The visit connects literary memory, carved texts and river geography, though cliff stairs require care in wet weather.

宜昌博物馆

The museum covers prehistoric cultures, Ba and Chu history, Three Kingdoms material, local communities and the transformation of the gorge region. Its galleries supply chronology for landscapes otherwise dominated by engineering and cruise narratives.

长江三峡

Three Gorges of the Yangtze is a major landscape whose scale, setting and local conditions reward advance planning rather than a rushed stop.
