Baiyun Mountain
Baiyun Mountain is Guangzhou's major urban hill system, rising north of the dense centre and linking forest paths, reservoirs, gardens, temples and viewpoints. Its highest ridges are modest by mountain standards, but tropical heat, humidity and the large scenic-area footprint make route choice important. Local exercise culture is as much part of the visit as the skyline views.

Getting there
Multiple gates serve different routes and are not interchangeable. Choose the entrance, trail and exit in advance and confirm the last internal shuttle or cableway.
Practical notes
Avoid strenuous midday climbing in hot months, carry water and mosquito protection, and stop during thunderstorms. Wear shoes with grip after heavy rain.
