Chengde Mountain Resort and Outlying Temples Scenic Area
Chengde Mountain Resort comprises palaces and landscaped lakes, plains and hills. Together with the outlying temples, it reflects Qing imperial architecture and the history of cultural exchange. The grounds are extensive: select key routes through the palaces and lake area rather than assuming all surrounding temples are subsidiary sites within walking distance inside the resort. These historical photographs mainly cover the resort; temple tickets and visits require separate checking.
