Daming Palace National Heritage Park
Daming Palace was the principal imperial palace of the Tang capital for much of the dynasty. Today the immense archaeological park uses foundations, reconstructed scale, museums and landscape markers to communicate an urban complex that no longer survives above ground. Its open distances make the organisation and ambition of Chang'an clearer than a small architectural replica could.

Getting there
Use Daminggong or Hanyuandian metro access depending on the planned entrance. The park is large, so identify the museum and principal foundations before starting.
Practical notes
There is limited shade across exposed areas. Bring sun or rain protection, use the interpretation to understand low foundations, and distinguish free public landscape from ticketed sections.
