Elephant Trunk Hill
Elephant Trunk Hill stands where the Peach Blossom River meets the Li River, its water-level arch creating the silhouette that became Guilin's emblem. Water Moon Cave, historic inscriptions and the Ming-era Puxian Pagoda add cultural layers to the compact limestone hill, while the surrounding riverbank gives a clearer view of the landform than a hurried climb alone.

Getting there
The hill is in central Guilin and is easy to reach on foot, by bus or taxi from the lakes district. Use the marked visitor entrances rather than following unofficial boat solicitations.
Practical notes
Morning and late afternoon provide softer light. Paths and cave steps can be wet after rain; respect inscription barriers and check whether any small interior area has separate access rules.
