Gansu Bamboo Slips Museum
This specialist museum protects and interprets wooden and bamboo documents excavated from Gansu's frontier sites. Postal records, legal cases, inventories and private messages show how Han-era administration and ordinary life functioned along the Silk Road, while conservation displays explain why waterlogged or desiccated writing is so fragile. It complements the provincial museum by slowing attention from grand artefacts to individual words and daily systems.

Metro Line 1 to Matan, Exit A, then walk roughly 500 metres toward Lanzhou Old Street. Follow the museum's official visitor signs.
