Longhua Temple and Pagoda
Longhua combines one of Shanghai's most important Buddhist temple precincts with the seven-storey Longhua Pagoda, a landmark whose present structure preserves Song-dynasty architectural character. The complex adds a much older historical layer to an itinerary often dominated by nineteenth- and twentieth-century Shanghai, while the surrounding district links naturally to the West Bund.

Longhua metro station is nearby. The pagoda is generally appreciated from outside; religious services and temple access should be respected as active rather than staged attractions.
