Stone Forest Scenic Area
The Stone Forest is an extensive karst landscape where dissolution and erosion shaped dense limestone pinnacles, corridors, caves and platforms. Major and Naigu scenic areas present different rock colour and visitor density. Geological interpretation should be considered together with Sani Yi stories and cultural traditions, rather than reducing the formations to imagined shapes alone.

Getting there
The site is well outside central Kunming. Use a confirmed intercity bus, rail-plus-transfer or licensed vehicle and verify which entrance and section the service reaches.
Practical notes
Plan most of a day, wear grip shoes for polished stone and carry sun and rain protection. Stay on marked routes and do not assume every scenic section is included in one internal shuttle loop.
