Tibet Museum
The Tibet Museum provides the essential chronological and material context that monument-only itineraries miss. Archaeology, documents, sculpture, textiles, painting, folk culture and the plateau environment connect objects to long histories of exchange and local practice. A focused visit to selected galleries is more useful than trying to cover every case, especially while acclimatising, and labels should be read critically alongside the physical evidence.

The museum is opposite the Norbulingka area and can be linked on foot when entrances are open. Use public transport and allow time for security screening.
