Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon
The Yarlung Tsangpo turns around Namcha Barwa through one of the world's deepest river-gorge systems, compressing huge changes in elevation, climate and vegetation. Managed viewpoints and village stops reveal only the accessible entrance section; the remote inner gorge is not a casual hiking destination. River scale, tectonic relief and inhabited valley landscapes matter more than superlative slogans or a single mountain photograph.

Getting there
Use the official visitor centre, scenic shuttles or verified through-service from Nyingchi. Roads are long, winding and vulnerable to weather, so do not plan tight same-day connections.
Practical notes
Stay within open visitor zones, keep away from cliffs and river edges and follow landslide or flood closures. Ask before photographing residents and verify any border-area document requirements for the chosen route.
