镇国寺
Zhenguo Temple
Zhenguo Temple, the third component of the World Heritage property, is centred on the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall, a rare surviving timber building from the Five Dynasties period. Its bracket sets, low roof profile and early sculpture make the site essential for understanding Chinese wooden architecture before the better-known Ming and Qing fabric of the walled town.

Getting there
The temple lies northeast of town with limited public connections. Combine it with a pre-arranged car route and do not assume ride-hailing will be available for the return.
Practical notes
This is a quiet religious heritage site, not a quick photo stop. Observe barriers, do not touch timber or sculpture, and allow the building proportions to be read from the courtyard.
