李子坝轨道站

Liziba Station is part of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 2, where trains pass through a purpose-designed opening in a mixed-use building. The stop illustrates how rail infrastructure adapts to scarce flat land and steep terrain; the viewing platform below is more informative than treating the resident building as a novelty to intrude upon.

重庆中国三峡博物馆

Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum explains the municipality through regional archaeology, Ba–Shu culture, wartime history, folk life and the transformation of the Yangtze and Three Gorges. It is especially valuable before travelling along the river because objects, models and documentary material give human and environmental context to landscapes that otherwise appear only scenic.

磁器口古镇

Ciqikou developed as a river port and market settlement on the Jialing River. Its hillside lanes, temple sites, courtyard houses and traces of trade survive within a heavily visited commercial district. Leaving the main snack street for quieter side lanes helps separate the old town's topography and community history from the modern visitor economy.

长江索道

A commuter cable car across the Yangtze, now the best ride in town.

朝天门两江交汇

Chaotianmen occupies the tip of the Yuzhong peninsula where the Jialing River meets the Yangtze. The confluence, working river traffic, bridges and steep city behind explain why Chongqing developed as a port and transport centre. New megastructures now frame the historic site, making the contrast between geography and contemporary construction part of the experience.

鹅岭公园与二厂文创公园

Eling occupies a narrow high ridge above the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. The historic park offers gardens and elevated city views, while the nearby former printing-factory complex known as Testbed 2 has been adapted for studios, cafés and cultural businesses. Together they show both the peninsula's topography and contemporary reuse of industrial space.

武隆喀斯特

Wulong is a component of the South China Karst World Heritage property, representing an uplifted inland plateau shaped into giant collapse depressions, natural bridges, gorges and caves. The Three Natural Bridges and related landscapes make geological scale visible, while other Wulong attractions are spread across a large mountainous district rather than one compact park.

重庆抗战遗址博物馆

The Chongqing War Heritage Museum preserves buildings and sites connected with Chongqing's role as China's wartime capital during the War of Resistance. Residences, offices and diplomatic traces distributed across a wooded hillside explain political decision-making, international contact and civilian endurance beyond the better-known air-raid shelters of the central city.
