中国丝绸博物馆

China National Silk Museum examines silk from fibre and loom technology to archaeology, conservation, dress and global exchange. Working equipment, textile structures and preserved garments make it possible to understand how material, technique and fashion changed across regions and centuries. It is one of the strongest indoor complements to Hangzhou's landscape-focused attractions.

京杭大运河杭州段

The Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal is a living urban waterway rather than a single monument. Around Gongchen Bridge, historic warehouses, workshops, museums, residential streets and modern public space show how transport, craft and daily life accumulated along the canal. Walking both banks reveals continuity and adaptive reuse more clearly than a short cruise alone.

西溪国家湿地公园

Xixi is a large urban wetland landscape of waterways, ponds, reed beds, orchards, villages and cultural traditions west of central Hangzhou. Water covers much of the area, supporting varied habitats while preserving traces of fishing, silk production, seasonal festivals and waterside settlement. Its scale and quiet rhythm offer a strong ecological counterpoint to West Lake.

良渚古城遗址公园与良渚博物院

The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City preserve evidence of an early regional state based on rice cultivation around 3300–2300 BCE. City platforms, water-management works and socially differentiated cemeteries reveal planning, hierarchy and belief, while the museum explains the jade objects and research that make low earthen remains legible. The park and museum work best as complementary parts of one story.

杭州博物馆

Hangzhou Museum provides a city-scale narrative from prehistoric settlement and Wuyue rule through the Southern Song capital, craft traditions and modern urban development. Archaeology, ceramics, painting and everyday objects connect the famous landscapes outside with the people and institutions that shaped them, making it a useful orientation before exploring the old city.

雷峰塔景区

Leifeng Pagoda occupies Sunset Hill on West Lake's southern shore and anchors one of the lake's traditionally named views. The present structure protects the remains of the earlier pagoda while providing elevated views across the water, causeways and surrounding hills. Its cultural importance also comes from the enduring Legend of the White Snake.

南宋德寿宫遗址博物馆

Deshou Palace Site Museum interprets the residence of retired Southern Song emperors within the former capital of Lin'an. Protected foundations, archaeological layers, digital reconstruction and displays of court life make palace space visible without pretending the surviving evidence is a complete historic building. It adds essential urban context beyond West Lake's landscape story.
