Wuhan East Lake

East Lake is an enormous urban lake system with greenways, wetlands, wooded peninsulas, gardens and university edges spread across many kilometres. Tingtao, Moshan and Luoyan offer different landscapes and entrances; they cannot all be covered on a casual walk. The lake functions as habitat, flood and climate infrastructure as well as the city's major recreation landscape.

Getting there

Choose one area, then use metro, bus or official greenway transport to its correct gate. Bicycle availability and return points should be confirmed before a long one-way ride.

Practical notes

Carry water and insect protection, avoid exposed greenways in extreme heat or lightning and stay out of wetland restoration areas. Blossom seasons create major crowd and traffic pressure.
