Practical notes
Twenty kilometres north-west, on the last ridge before the flood plain. The point is the view: a wide brown river moving slowly between silt banks that are higher than the fields beyond them. The Yan and Huang emperors, 106 metres of them, are cut into the hill above. A half-day with the bus each way.
