潜口民宅博物馆

Qiankou Folk Houses is a specialist museum preserving and displaying historic Huizhou architecture, and forms part of the Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Area. The Ming and Qing gardens present houses, ancestral halls, ceremonial arches and other buildings, with entrance canopies, skywells and timber details to observe. Buildings were relocated here for collective conservation; the grounds should not be understood as an intact ancient village preserved entirely in its original location.

唐模

Tangmo is an ancient village characterized by waterside gardens, water-town scenery and Huizhou architecture, forming part of the Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Area. Walk along the water street and gardens to see how waterways connect bridges, pavilions, courtyards and residents’ lives. Allow time for architectural details and waterside spaces rather than only photographs at the entrance. Transport to Qiankou Folk Houses and Chengkan still needs separate planning.

棠樾牌坊群·鲍家花园

Tangyue Archways and Bao Family Garden form part of the Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Area, combining stone arches, ancestral halls, gardens and bonsai. Examine the arches’ structures and carvings, then compare the garden’s arrangement of pools, bridges, covered walkways and plants. These are separate destinations from Huizhou Ancient City and need transfer time. Sharing one 5A designation does not make them adjacent on foot or covered by the same ticket.

呈坎

Chengkan forms part of the Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Area and features traditional village layout, homes and ancestral halls. Winding lanes and changing light inside and outside courtyards reward slow observation. Combine waterside scenery with historic buildings. The village still supports residents’ daily lives; distinguish homes from open attractions and do not enter closed lanes or courtyards just to check them off a list.

宏村

The Hongcun water system, ancestral halls and Huizhou merchant houses show the planning of Huizhou villages that are still inhabited. The famous reflecting pond is also a community infrastructure and public space, which does not mean it can block roads or enter residences.

西递

Xidi preserves a dense collection of streets, ancestral hall spaces, and decorative dwellings shaped by the wealth of clans and Huizhou merchants. Understanding the inscriptions, spatial hierarchy and water management is more meaningful than just collecting photos of the gatehouse.

徽州古城

The old city of Shexian County preserves the city gates, streets, archways and living blocks related to Huizhou's administration and commerce. Modern businesses and residents share the historical fabric, so a distinction must be made between public monuments and private courtyards.

屯溪老街与黎阳片区

Tunxi Linjiang Commercial Street preserves the Huizhou shophouse style while serving the contemporary city; adjacent streets and alleys can expand the horizon beyond souvenir retail. You can better observe the local rhythm in the early morning or evening, but the upstairs and backyard are still private unless open.

黄山风景区

Huangshan's granite peaks, pine trees, sea of clouds and historical mountain roads form a world heritage cultural landscape. Ropeways shorten ascents but do not eliminate exposed steps, weather risks and huge distances; a route should be chosen and closures obeyed.
