Baima Snow Mountain Road Corridor
Baima Snow Mountain marks a high ecological transition of conifer forest, alpine shrub, meadow and snowy ridges. The road corridor can reveal vertical vegetation and wildlife habitat without requiring mountaineering, but high passes are vulnerable to snow, ice, fog and closure. Protected species and forest ecosystems matter more than improvised roadside wildlife pursuit, and older road sections are not automatically open.

Travel only on currently open public roads with an authorised driver and winter equipment when required. Stop solely at signed pull-outs and never on blind bends.
Practical notes
Check snow, fire and road notices, remain near the vehicle in severe weather and do not feed or approach wildlife. High-pass stops should be brief for unacclimatised travellers.
