Feilai Temple and Meili Snow Mountain Viewpoints
The Feilai Temple corridor faces the Meili range across the Lancang valley and is the most accessible place to understand Kawagarbo's scale and sacred status. View platforms, village lodging and the religious landscape now coexist with heavy photography demand. Kawagarbo is protected from climbing for cultural reasons; watching from a legal viewpoint respects that boundary. Sunrise illumination depends entirely on cloud, moisture and light and cannot be promised.

Use authorised road transport from Deqin town and confirm parking or shuttle controls. Walk between nearby viewpoints instead of stopping on narrow highway shoulders.
Practical notes
Dress warmly before dawn, remain behind barriers and keep voices low near worship. Do not fly drones, hang prayer flags or enter temple space without permission, and accept cloud without chasing unsafe road angles.
