Haizi Mountain Plateau
Haizi Mountain is an expansive high plateau of glacially shaped rock, shallow lakes and sparse vegetation. Its scale and apparent emptiness reveal a harsh alpine environment rather than unused land, and roadside viewpoints are safer than improvised wandering across wetlands or boulder fields. The landscape is highly exposed, with limited shelter and a lower margin for mechanical, medical or weather problems.

Visit as part of the official highway journey with an experienced authorised driver. Do not stop on blind curves or soft shoulders, and verify road conditions before departure.

Keep the stop brief if not acclimatised, remain near the vehicle, leave lakes and wildlife undisturbed and carry emergency warmth, water and offline navigation.
