A Ming temple founded in the 1300s, the best old timber in a city that lost most of it. Free.

Practical notes
Glazed tile, carved beams and a small opera stage facing the main hall, the halls themselves Ming and Qing rebuildings, enclosed on all four sides by newer blocks. Twenty minutes is enough unless the temple fair is on, around the third lunar month, when the courtyards fill with stalls and shadow-puppet stages. Ten minutes’ walk from the Shang walls.
