布达拉宫
Potala PalaceThe Potala Palace stands on the Red Mountain and is a large-scale palace building; the White House, the Red Palace and its stairs, Buddhist halls, murals, wooden structures and ritual instruments together preserve many levels of Tibetan political, religious and artistic history. This is a fragile heritage system, not a stage set. The visit is a controlled one-way route with limited time and lots of climbing, so the outside views are worth understanding as much as the World Heritage context, rather than just a quick trip through the interior.
