深圳改革开放展览馆

The exhibition hall tells the story of Guangdong's reform and opening up process and Shenzhen's transformation from a border area to a global city through documents, products, photos, models and everyday objects. Physical evidence makes policy, labour, manufacturing, housing and migration concrete beyond a single ‘success narrative’. After visiting, you can compare the civic image formed by the planning with the social history in the museum based on the central axis of the nearby city.

平江路

Pingjiang Road runs along the river through the relatively well-preserved old city area of Suzhou. Narrow bridges, laneways, courtyard houses, small museums and residents' lives continue the parallel relationship between streets and rivers in the historical map. The main road is obviously commercialized, but the urban fabric that is quieter and continues to be used as a community can still be seen in the branch lanes.

汉口历史风貌区与江汉关

The Hankou river bank developed into an important commercial port after the opening of the port in the 19th century. Old banks, foreign banks, churches and Jianghan Pass are scattered behind the modern river beach, which not only records the foreign concession space, but also reflects the Chinese commercial network. Walking from the neighborhoods to the river bank, you can understand how trade, flood control and transportation came together to shape modern Wuhan.

集美学村

Jimei Mei Village originated from the educational institution founded by overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. The campus and public buildings combine southern Fujian roofs, arcades and modern structures into a distinctive Kah Kee style. It still serves an educational function today, and its value lies in the continued use of a public cultural landscape rather than a closed building park.

西宁东关清真大寺

Dongguan Mosque is an important Muslim worship and community life center in eastern Xining. Its architectural form and changing urban environment reflect the long history of Hui and other Muslim communities living along the trade and migration routes of the Huangshui Valley. Since this is still a functioning mosque, the focus of a visit should be on respecting boundaries and understanding the rhythm of the community, rather than viewing worship as a performance.

兴坪古镇

Xingping is a historic settlement on the Li River, with streets, markets and ferry memories squeezed into the narrow strip between the peaks and the river. The neighborhood is popular because of the association with the 20-yuan image, but the ancient town is more suitable as a node for understanding river transportation and village geography. Commercial storefronts coexist with residential spaces, and not every alley is a tourist attraction.

798·751园区

798·751 is located in a large industrial heritage area in northeastern Beijing. The Bauhaus-influenced factory building now houses galleries, design studios, cultural institutions, cafes and event spaces. Industrial history, international exhibitions and commercial creative culture are juxtaposed in pedestrian streets and alleys, making it an important area for observing cultural production in contemporary Beijing.

鹅岭公园与二厂文创公园

Eling is located on a long and narrow ridge between the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. The historical park provides gardens and a high view of the city. The adjacent No. 2 Cultural and Creative Park, which was converted from an old printing factory, houses studios, cafes and cultural businesses. The combination of the two enables simultaneous observation of the topography of the Chongqing Peninsula and the contemporary reuse of industrial space.

青岩古镇

Qingyan developed from a military settlement in the Ming Dynasty into a compact ancient town composed of stone lanes, city gates, courtyards and religious buildings. Courtyards such as Ciyun Temple and Wenchang Pavilion show the multi-layered local construction tradition, and the houses and food shops that are still inhabited make this place more than just a commemorative scenic spot. The tour should not just stop at the most photogenic street, but also distinguish between historical relics and later commercial restoration.

哈尔滨冰雪大世界

Harbin Ice and Snow World is an ice and snow landscape redesigned and constructed every season, including lighted ice buildings, large-scale snow sculptures, performances and winter activities. It is not a permanent monument and is rebuilt each time, so pictures from previous years are not representative of the layout of the next one; this project shows how cold weather, ice harvesting techniques, lighting and mass entertainment can combine to form temporary urban-scale works of art.

屯溪老街与黎阳片区

Tunxi Linjiang Commercial Street preserves the Huizhou shophouse style while serving the contemporary city; adjacent streets and alleys can expand the horizon beyond souvenir retail. You can better observe the local rhythm in the early morning or evening, but the upstairs and backyard are still private unless open.

喀赞其历史文化街区

Kazanqi is a neighborhood where Yining still lives, with colorful courtyards, mosques, workshops, restaurants and tree-lined lanes intertwined. Some courtyards are open to tourists, but a large number of residences are still private spaces, and access rights must be determined on a door-to-door basis.

开封城墙

The main body of the existing city wall belongs to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a layer of the city that was repeatedly buried and rebuilt after the Yellow River floods. Gates, walls and archaeological evidence illustrate how later defensive structures were superimposed on earlier capital layers. A short walk will help you understand the "city on top of the city", but it cannot be directly called the original city wall of Tokyo City in the Northern Song Dynasty.

苏州河城市漫步

Walking along the Suzhou River, one can understand Shanghai through bridges, warehouses, apartment buildings and newly connected waterfront spaces. The downstream section near Waibaidu Bridge and the Postal Museum is densely populated with modern urban history, while different sections upstream show how infrastructure and industrial land are transformed into daily public spaces.

华侨城创意文化园

OCT Creative Culture Park transforms old industrial buildings into galleries, studios, design agencies, coffee shops and event spaces. The value here is not in the fixed sightseeing checklists, but in the relationship between the transformed concrete structure, green courtyard and the changes in Shenzhen’s creative economy. Exhibitions and merchants will change, which is suitable for slow observation of architecture and cultural production taking place, not just consumption.

武汉长江大桥

The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic in 1957. The upper deck is for traffic and the lower deck is for railways. It is the first fixed channel for the Yangtze River in Wuhan. It physically connects the three towns and reshapes the north-south transportation across the country. Observing from the surrounding mountains, ferries and river banks, one can often better understand the engineering and urban scale than walking long distances along the traffic flow.

西宁野生动物园

The park introduces highland wildlife such as snow leopards, Pallas's cats and black-necked cranes, along with work to protect them. Rescue and veterinary stories add context, but individual animals may be off display for welfare reasons. Focus on habitats and conservation rather than expecting a close-up photograph of a particular animal.

深圳湾公园

This long-distance waterfront park combines recreation and urban vistas with ecological buffers alongside protected mangroves and tidal flats. Cold-season migratory waterbirds use Shenzhen Bay as a stopover along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. Public trails do not equate to free access to nature reserves; responsible observation requires keeping a distance, lowering the volume, and allowing birds to feed without interruption.
